moringa growing

Post  Admin on Mon Apr 20, 2009 11:58 am

setting up a moringa is simple and less expensive. you can ask limbs cutting in the neighborhood. first prepare the area and dig hole about 1 foot deep every meter apart, then cut moringa (malunggay) limbs about 3 feet high. plant limbs and place organic fertilizer, water every day if summer time, avoid over watering the plant. when sprouts began to appear cut the small ones and leave few big sprout to grow. place a fence around your plantation to avoid animal from getting in. you can harvest your plant after 4 to 5 months.

during harvest immediately wash the leaves with purified water and let dry under a shade (dont dry under the sun) for 4 days, then shake holding the stem to separate the leaves. place the separated leaves in a clean plastic bag or sack and ready for shipment. in every kilo of fresh leaves that includes the stem produces 250 grams of shade dried leaves excluding stem. we will be posting updated price of dried moringa leaves (prices varies depending on supply and demand)

inform our buying station a week before you wish to harvest.
